Terms of service

Updated October 4, 2026

By using Poof or its API, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

Poof provides temporary voice and text chat rooms without accounts. Rooms expire after 24 hours. The prototype may change or become unavailable, and messages are not backed up.

Use responsibly

Follow applicable laws. Do not use Poof for harassment, threats, exploitation, unlawful content, spam, or impersonation. Do not attack the service, bypass room restrictions or rate limits, or use it to collect other people's information without permission.

You are responsible for what you share and for obtaining any permissions required to share or record other people's content.

Rooms and access

Anyone with a link or code can join an unlocked room. Hosts can lock a room, remove participants, or close it. Keep your host key private. Anonymous sessions do not verify who a participant is.

We may limit or suspend access to protect users and the service or respond to misuse.

Your content and privacy

You retain rights to your content. You allow Poof and its service providers to transmit it to room participants as needed to provide the service. See the Privacy page for data handling and storage.

API use

These terms also apply to applications using the API. Respect rate limits, protect room access keys, and tell your users that Poof and its service providers handle their room connections.

Availability and responsibility

The service is provided as available, without guarantees of uninterrupted access or message delivery. Do not rely on it for emergencies. To the extent allowed by law, Poof is not responsible for lost data, interruptions, or other users' conduct. These terms do not limit rights or liabilities that the law does not allow us to exclude.

Changes

We will publish changes on this page with an updated date. Changes apply to future use of the service.
